Notes:
- The download is a Microsoft Installer file (.msi), double
click the file to start the install process, if you have
trouble running this file you may need to upgrade
your Microsoft installer software.
- The Microsoft .Net Framework runtime (known as dotnet)
is Microsoft's new framework for building Windows and Web
applications, it is a free upgrade to your Windows XP or 2000 system from Microsoft.

- Windows Vista includes .Net version 3 (so you do not need to download this component for Vista) also most new Windows XP computers come with .Net installed, If you do
not have the .NET Framework 1.1 or later installed the setup
program will prompt you to download and install it, you
can download the .NET Framework 1.1 by going to Microsoft's
download page here
or by going to Windows
Update or if you have a recent XP installation (or upgrade)
disk you may find the .Net Framework installer on the disk
(probably under the DOTNETFX folder).
- You can check to see if you already have the .NET
Framework installed by clicking Start on your Windows
desktop, selecting Settings and then Control Panel,
double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon. When
that window appears, scroll through the list of applications.
If you see Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 or above listed, a version
is already installed and you do not need to install it again.
